How does the Solveno RC-25 recuperator affect the microclimate and indicators in the henhouse — research results
Experienced farmers know how important it is to maintain a constant temperature and humidity in the poultry house. Even a drop of 1℃ can cause illness and death of the bird. On the other hand, ensuring a stable microclimate is extremely resource-intensive. A solution that would allow combining technology and economy was found in air recuperators.
What is a recuperator? In fact, it is a heat exchanger, which in the cold season provides heating of the outside air due to the exchange of heat with the internal air that is removed from the room. This means that the fresh air is already warmed up in the house and you save money on additional heating.. Instead, the exhaust air from the room is taken by a fan and removed to the outside. Fresh air is distributed into the room by a diffuser and ensures a stable temperature throughout the room.
In February 2024, we started testing the impact of air recuperators on the microclimate in the hen house.. Research was conducted on the basis of 6 identical poultry houses in the Dnipro region, measuring 96×18, heated by gas guns and housing 30 thousand broiler chickens each. In one of them, 9 Solveno RC-25 air recuperators were installed. From the remaining five, average values of microclimate indicators were taken. That is, the error in this case is excluded.
After 4 rounds of tests, the indicators in the poultry house where the recuperators were installed showed an improvement in the microclimate, better preservation of livestock and an additional increase in the weight of the birds:
In winter, 10% less gas was consumed (without taking into account the heating of the poultry house), 33% preservation of livestock and an increase in the weight of poultry +1.3% (+38 g/head);
In the spring – 30% gas savings, 31% livestock retention and +0.4% (+13 g/head) increase in bird weight;
In the summer – 72% gas savings, 20% livestock retention and +3% weight gain (+74 g/head);
Among other things, the amount of relative air humidity decreased from 9% in winter to 0.5% in summer. And, as you know, excess moisture can provoke the spread of fungi and mold, deterioration of appetite and problems with the health of the bird. It is also worth noting that under the action of the recuperator, the amount of carbon dioxide also decreased from 7% in winter to almost 20% in summer.
The Solveno RC-25 air recuperator can be operated from the central computer of the poultry house or from a local automation panel.
The results of 4 rounds showed an improvement of the microclimate in the room, gas savings, improvement of livestock preservation and additional weight gain of poultry.
