Heating the pigsty with heating fans and air heatersи
For productive pig production, proper heating of the pig house, i.e. maintaining optimum climatic conditions, is essential. This means creating the right temperature in the pig house, supplying the right amount of fresh air, and ensuring an equal temperature distribution in the house.
The optimal temperature for pigs is such that they do not expend energy on their own heating, thus maintaining a high feed conversion rate.
It is possible to heat pig houses in different ways. Each method has its advantages and can be effectively used for different phases of the animal growing.
Infrared heaters
Infrared heaters, based on the principle of radiant heating, heat surfaces and animals. This type of heating is ideal for heating piglets in combination with heating mats. With this kind of heating, the heat is led exactly to where the piglets are..
Gas air heaters
The gas air heater works on the principle of air heating – it heats the air (flowing through the combustion chamber) and distributes it through the space using an axial fan. These heaters have an open combustion chamber, which on the one hand provides the heater efficiency of 100%, on the other hand need to remove the products of combustion with additional ventilation. This type of heating is best used wherever mature animals are present.
Water pipes
Water pipes, heating registers, transfer the heat from the heating medium which comes from a boiler room or a biogas cogeneration plant. They are characterised by low air mobility, high inertia and temperature stratification. Nevertheless, this way of heating the pig house is universal.
Air water heaters
Air water heaters also transfer the heat into the pig house by blowing the hot heat exchanger which is heated by water from a boiler house or a biogas heating system. This method of heating quickly warms up the room, does not emit combustion products into the room and distributes the temperature evenly throughout the pig house without creating stagnant areas.
SOLVENO’s RMX-AP series of barn heaters have been designed for this type of heating solution.
All the special requirements for reliable and durable operation in the barn have been taken into account when designing these heaters. Particular attention has been paid to the heat exchanger as the most vulnerable part of the heater:
To prevent dust clogging, the lamellas are spaced 4.2 mm apart;
The lamellas are reinforced with 0.2mm thickness and have an anti-squeeze bend, so that they can be cleaned with high-pressure jets of water after the heating cycle is completed;
To heat the room quickly, you need equipment with a high temperature jump. For this purpose, the heat exchanger is made in 3 rows.
To protect against corrosion in aggressive air environments, the heat exchanger is treated with a double anti-corrosion coating;
The fan heater is fitted with adjustable louvres, so that the direction of heat flow can be easily adjusted.
The body is made of steel and coated with an anti-corrosion coating. A removable front panel is provided for washing and blowing out the heat exchanger. To wash the body and heat exchanger after the grow cycle, you can use high-pressure water heaters.
The fan heater is mounted on the wall with brackets. For pig houses with high ceilings, installation under the ceiling is possible by using a rotary diffuser. In this case, the fan heater prevents temperature stratification and saves energy.
